Pretty in Pink

This azalea is already in full bloom. It's exciting to go outside and see what's new in bloom for the day.

Another transplant

This is another transplant from Lucile's garden. I'm not sure what it's called but it looks like a big mound of irish clover. It blooms a beautiful delicate lavendar flower.

Camilla buds

As I was cleaning out flower beds to put out new mulch, I noticed this Camilla bloom. I was wondering it if was going to bloom at all this cycle. It usually blooms in the mid winter. Regardless, it's going to be really nice in full bloom.

Remember....

Legend has it the wood that made the cross Jesus was crucified on was from the Dogwood Tree, which at the time was the strongest and tallest of trees. God determined never again would the Dogwood Tree grow tall or strong enough to be used as a cross. Henceforth, it would be slender, bent, twisted and its blossoms in the form of a cross--two long and two short petals. In the center of the outer edge of each petal there would be nail prints, brown with rust and stained with red, and in the center of the flower would be a crown of thorns for all to see and remember.

Sweet Memories

The beautiful flower was transplanted from my Mother-in Law's yard who passed away last November. I'm not sure what kind of flower it is, but she always called it a butterfly bush. So... a butterfly bush it is! It will always bring to me sweet memories of Lucile.

And the Winner is.......White!

The first Iris blooming this year is White! My Dad gave me most of the Iris in my yard and each year I look forward to seeing what color blooms first. He told me recently he has some bearded ones for me so I can't wait to transplant them.
