Jeramiah was a bullfrog!

I've never posted a picture outside of my own gardens, but I had to share this photo of a bullfrog captured at the Atlanta Botantical Gardens yesterday.  This is one cool dude!

One of my favorites

Hosta's are one of my favorite plants even though I don't really like their blooms.  I have several different varieties with about a total of 60 or more in my gardens.  I started with two plants about 15 years ago and split them every year. 

We all need our beauty sleep

This ice plant closes up at night.  I am finding more and more flowers that do close at night. I think they are just sleeping.  Maybe that's where the phrase 'beauty sleep' came from!

Daphne

I purchased this plant from a local well known garden shop a few summers ago. 

They said, "...this is a Daphne and it's real hard to grow but you should try it".  I planted it and it is thriving with beautiful wax-like vargiated leaves and dainty waxy blooms.  

 p.s.  They also told me it blooms pink.  What do they know!

Poppies

I've never had poppies until this year.  Everytime I hear the word Poppies, I think of the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy and friends see the Emerald City for the first time and begin running through the field of poppies.

  This azalea is amazing and each detail serves a purpose.

Really nice Iris

This two toned Iris is really pretty. 

 I have only a few of them so I look forward to their blooming each year.

My first rose of the season

My first rose of the season has bloomed!

My hubby brought me home these raspberry carnations to plant.  They are really unique,

Azalea for my Red Hat mom

This very red azalea is posted for my mom who is the queen on her Red Hat group.

I'm honored to have her as my mom!

Lily of the Valley

The photo of this flowers is zoomed in so it appears much larger than it is.  The flower itself is actually smaller than a pinky fingernail. They are so dainty.

Shades of Pink

I have so mant different shades of pink azaleas and each one is beautiful.

Rare Azalea

I purchased this rare azalea two years ago and this if the first time it has bloomed. It is really cool.

What a Beauty

Does anyone know what type of perriennal this is? I'd love to know... it's another one I transplanted from my dad.

Modeling for a picture

This little blue bird modeled for about then minutes while I took it's picture. It was really neat!

After the rain

The Spring flowers really flourished and opened up. The purple Iris are beautiful.

Angels all around

This photo taken this morning of the yellow daisy helps to remind me that Angels are all around us.
